NuGen buys them from an importer called Etherium Lighting in Columbus. We'll never know who actually manufactures them since the trail is covered up. But, it looks just like a tube from MLS, a large chinese manufacturer.
The efficiency is pretty good, although there's lots of tubes in the 155 range. The design is older, using plastic and aluminum as the body. Most manufacturers have switched to all glass. This is what's called a combo-tube, which means it works either with or without a compatible ballast.
The price is good. Not sure I would trust either NuGen or Etherium to be around in a few years to honor any warranty.
Good luck,
CD

cybrdyke... Thanks for the heads up.. . I ended up buying same bulbs from another wholesaler @ 6.50 a tube. I read most of the Best light fixture ever thread and honestly got lost with some of the updates. I think the 2 bulbs that Platonic Solid had pinned at the beginning of the thread were little less in the lm/w and tried to find bulbs close to what he recommended. I'm not going to count on the warranty being of any use because of they're just going in my home shop (limited time by life and family) but figure that these are a good balance between usage and money spent.

I did have one good transaction with NuGen. I did purchase 36 2 tube fixtures @ 12.49 without issues and was extremely helpful over the phone..

Thanks again
Graham
