Anyone used an Eagle (plastic) Oily Waste Can?

I'm looking at the Eagle cans, they look nice. I called Eagle and they told me they used to make steel oily waste cans, but there was no profit margin in them, so they went to plastic. They said both have the same certifications, and are equally safe to use to snuff out rags on fire.

JustRite still makes a steel can, but I'd rather go with Eagle to match a fire cabinet I am getting.

Any experience with the newer Eagles?

I'm sure Eagle knows what they're doing, but I know I couldn't bring myself to using one.

They said it met all the certifications of their metal can. They offered to send out letters if I needed it for my "shop".

All the letters in the world won't be readable when you're shifting through the ashes.

Go find a used Eagle metal one. I frequently see them for sale. Paid $5 for mine. Or are you one those that only buys new? If so, go plastique.

Ashes, nah. Look, these can's don't have a hard job to do. They just need a lid that seals well enough to stop air from allowing a fire inside to grow to the point of damaging the containment. So long as it smothers the fire quickly, it will work.
I'm sure that if FM and OSHA say the can is ok, you'll be fine, but I'd still look on eBay first for a used one if I absolutely had to buy Eagle.

That being said, I'm not one who's that drawn to matching things up.
My oily rags can is Justrite. I have one Justrite flammable cabinet, and one from another manufacturer (can't remember the name off the top of my head).
My safety gas cans are Protectoseal and Eagle. Everything is metal.
