Anyone Used This Product?

I found a local guy, but he's quoting me 7 dollars a square foot installed. When I mentioned that thats about twice what race deck would cost he told me his cost for materials is 3.50 a square foot. I think he's trying to fleece me. He's coming over tomorrow to look at the garage.

Something is not right with those #'s or the product must be something that I've never seen.

Installation runs substantially more than "DIY" projects. I have incorporated floors into my contracting business because there is decent money to be made. $7.00 a s/f is not a great price, but it is not outrageous either, (depending on the product of course!) I have systems that range from $3.50 s/f to $20.00 s/f installed, so if you are getting a high build system (16-20 mils) that would not be too bad. IF its a low build (6-10mils) than its a little overpriced.

I would go with garage floor tile. You can install it for under $3.00 a square foot or buy the good stuff for $3.50 a square foot.

He came out on Saturday. 7 bucks a SF was the starting price. He showed me products that were 12.50 Per SF! THis stuff was thick. He showed me some stuff he called mma and then he had some quartz sand products that were 1/4" thick. He said he troweled it in. It was ok to drive on it the same day!.

Anyway, I asked him about the price and he said 3.50 per square foot for the materials. He told me he would be done in a half day. I said to him, well you are charging me in excess of 3000.00 for labor then. That comes out to 750 dollars a freakin hour! Thats for 2 guys putting it down. Him and a laborer.

F that! I will do Rustoleum Pro grade for 300 bucks in materials and get race deck later and still spend half of that!!
I might call the company and see if they have any other installers that work in the state. see what they say.

Garage tiles are easy to install. There is no reason to pay for installation. I would order off a do-it yourself site like mine, Griots garage or elite xpressions and put the tile in yourself. We can also get installed prices for you.

We just got an email today from a customer who installed our product under their home gym. He wrote

"Yes .. I am pleased with your product.. . . I see [brand name removed] on the home improvment shows like "Garage Takeover" and "DIY to the Rescue" but comparing the two products I see no difference .. what swung me over to your product was the free shipping and the turn around time .. [Brand name Removed] was going to charge me about 150 bucks for shipping and I would have had to waited about 3 weeks. Service was excellent too.

The big thing was that I received samples from you and [Brand Name Removed] only set me a dvd.
The samples were big influence .. as a program manager, I deal with samples all the time, this was number 1 thing that convinced me. "

Home Pro Floors (www.homeprofloors.com) did my 2500 sq. ft. garage seven years ago, complete turnkey job, including steel shot-blasting and two coats (applied 24 hours apart) of solvent-based industrial epoxy, for $1.92/sq.ft. Don't know what they charge these days, but $7.00/sf is outrageous!

While the price per square foot will vary depending on the size of the floor and complexity of the space i.e. # of corners, amount of prep, masking, etc. to be done; $7 / sf is pretty high. Over the past year, I've seen prices from about $2.50 / sf on large jobs to just under $5 / sf on small jobs for material and union labor in the SW suburbs of Chicago.

I'd say you've found a contractor whose used to hosing unsuspecting customers and laughing all the way to the bank on a regular basis.

its in the first post its not tile its an epoxy of some sort. They have quite a few products.
