Anyone using their 2 post lift for their Zero Turn Mower?

Hi All,

I am a new owner of a 2 post lift and I was thinking of different uses for it and my mower came to mind. Changing the blades is a pain and the lift would make it much easier, is anyone out there using a 2 post lift to lift a zero turn mower? Specifically a Hustler Xone?

not a zero turn, but I use it on my quad and my JD X540.

how I do it: get a pair of the cheap flat steel loading ramps from HF and span them across the lift arms, then drive up on the ramps and raise it up. I suppose boards would work too, but the ramps are "C-Channel" so the lift arms won't slip off them, and the tires grip the traction cut outs pretty good.

We made some brackets to fit into the lift arm holes. It gives you a tray to put each wheel in. Works great!

Yeah, I do it with a Gravely 260Z. I just use a piece of 2 x 4 lumber (on end) under the front chassis and a piece of 2 x 6 lumber (flat) under the rear. Once it's up, I put four of the tall jack stands under it to take the weight off the lumber.

I ain't gettin' under it with those boards supporting it! Yeah, I could obtain some appropriate pieces of steel to do the same job, but then I'd have to store them, and I only do this once a year, in the autumn.

To sharpen the blades of my zero turn, I just used a couple sturdy ratchet straps on two arms of the 2 post and lifted the front end of the mower to get to the blades.

I have tried it with the HF steel C channel across the lift arms but as I drove up onto the ramps the ZTMower would push the ramps off the arms. By using some 2 X ? I was able to get it up on the ramps. Use ratchet straps to secure. Could use better pictures of the "brackets" that fit in the pads, please.

Not a zero turn, but I lift my riding mower with my Bend Pak by just extending the arms as far they will go and putting the pads under the floorboards. Lift it all the way up, walk under the deck and remove the blades, clean the deck, etc.

I just use my tractor and ratchet straps on the front end loader. I lift it until the back of the zero turn touches the ground. I use a floor scraper to clean the deck so I never have to get under it. When I change blades I put a 10 ton jack stand under lawnmower since I have to reach under it. Never tried using the lift.

I don't have a pic handy but a piece of angle about a foot long with a peg welded in it that replaces the pad. They fit this mower in particular.

just today Ive been working on a storage solution for my JD ZTR.
Im going to use aluminum scaffold decking which is 7 ft X 19 in
I will be able to drive on to the decking and have access under when the lift is raised.
I will also be able to store the mower on it and have floor space under it.

started doing layout so I can get material
Opened the lift as wide as I could, can always slide the scaffold platforms in if I need to
Will also fit the golf cart if I need to work on it

I like that and it's a good idea. I can lift golf carts with it all stock. I did mower brackets due to the fact it hangs like a car, wheels all clear, same for carts.

I've done it at work a few times. I just lift the front of the unit with chains since I don't need the whole thing off the ground.

I was considering turning the planks the other way so it would be clear for entire mower
but would need something to bridge the planks until front wheels are on front platform and would need ramps to get off and on. This way has its advantages, access to the underside of motor etc.and I can drive on without anything except a small piece of plywood.

well its pretty much done, save of punching some 1-1/4 in holes in the angle for the leveling pads to screw into the angle so its secured.
Everything pretty much went as planned, easy setup and take down, lots of access underneath and best of all cheap. I think I will buy new scaffold planks for the sake of safety,as the old ones have seen better days.Mower drove right up on it without any ramps, havent tried golf cart yet but Im guessing it will need ramps to load but not unload.

nice job!
Do you know the capacity of the planks?
I looked up the weight of your 757... ~ 1200 pounds..

Appears you have a Worth lift there.. How do you like it ?

on the neighbors planks was stamped 75# per sq ft so we figured it was about 750# each
pretty sure a 757 doesnt weigh any wheres near 1200#.
Mines different anyways,,I have made a hybrid,797 powertrain in 757 frame.

just looked up the specs in the JD tech manual
says just south of 1200# which is surprising since dealer told me it was about 900#.
Somethings a miss with the specs tho as shows same weight on the 737 with 54 inch deck as the 757 with 60 inch deck.
