Anyone with RaceDeck or equivalent, do you do hot work?

Anyone here with RaceDeck, SwissTraxx, etc...do you do any metal cutting, grinding or welding over your plastic tile floors? Obviously it is not going to hold up to big chunks of red hot metal, but how does it handle typical welding slag or grinding sparks?

I do very little of this kind of work, but I may do more in the future and I want to learn how to weld. I'm wondering if maybe a welding blanket or something fire-resistant and insulating underneath your work area would be sufficient to protect it.

Polypropylene modular flooring is not designed to be used in welding areas. Pretty much the best solution for a welding shop is plain concrete with some sort of sealer.
Most all RaceDeck customers who weld in their garages ( residential and commercial) use welding mats on the floor when they weld... we do the same in our garage.

Jorgen is correct. We have had a customer do some pretty harsh work on the tiles and they show it to some extent. With welding it would just melt.
. Usually for grinding and welding people will go with TL37 densifier followed by Ghostshield 8505 or 8510 sealer
