My family just moved into a new home with a 3 garage, but with no 220v outlet in the garage. The breaker panel has a blank 2 slot space in the breaker box marked "garage" but I cannot find a sinle outlet for any 220v plug.
We are replacing our electric stove with a gas unit this week. The stove backs up to an exterior wall. I am thinking of taking the 50amp line and pulling it to the exterior and routing it around the house (with the proper connections and conduit) to the garage. FWIW, I use a Lincoln 175t 220v MIG.
Is there any reason not to do this?
Seems like the easiest way to get a 50amp line to the garage that is already wired up correctly on my breaker box. If I don't use it, its just gonna sit there.
