There are tons of sim card cameras for sale online. I am not familiar with them but it looks like someone is charging for a service you can take care of by just buying a sim card camera, a sim card and cheap plan from your favorite cell phone company, and slapping it up.

I purchased the ARLO PRO cellular based camera for my farm. It is 9 miles from my home so It is nice to have it up and running. I gave $350 for the unit and I pay $20 per month on to my Verizon bill. I like how it works but I am not sure I could recommend ARLo as there is ZERO customer service. Thy refer you to the manual on line or a chat room of other confused and disgruntled users. It has worked for about 5 years but recently, it has started to loose its sensitivity and ability to notify me if someone drives into the yard. I suspect the camera is just getting old and outdated. I also suspect Verizon's signal may have changed a bit due to the rural location. I will read this thread with anticipation of finding a new provider with real customer help lines. I use a Simply Safe at my business location via wifi and it has been a wonderful investment and very well supported by the company.

I have Arlo cameras that have been working for several years, but the company support is very minimal. They also increased the cost of cloud storage from $10 to $13/ month in one leap, and if you don’t keep cloud storage you lose multiple features. They will work with local storage from a USB plugged into the hub, but the interface to view the files really ***** (versus the web interface you get with cloud storage).

I also have Reolink. I needed solar powered cellular cameras. After some research it seemed the only options were low end or super high end professional thousands of dollar systems. Nothing middle of the road. I settled with three Reolink cameras and bought a data only sim card off of Amazon for them. Have been very pleased with their operation. Can set them up to push notifications whenever anything is detected. Can live stream footage and they also store X amount of footage for a period of time.

I picked up some refurbished Reolink's off their Ebay store. An older poe model, RLC-520's. Basic with good quality resolution. I've probably set up 10 or 15 of them with no issues.
