Get them, Apex makes industrial/production grade stuff so you won't be disappointed.

Does anyone know who makes dayton tools. I just bought a 1/2 ratchet marked DaytoN chgo-USA @ a flea market for $5.50. Finest tooth I've ever felt....even in a 1/4 ratchet. Looks a little like the Bon-E-Con Za707 1/2 with the little heart shape on the head.

Unless someone says otherwise, I'm going the assume that APEX and DAYTON had some kind of business arrangement to produce sockets together. :dunno:

The sockets read APEX DAYTON, so I assume that was the name at one point?

YES, Apex sockets are GOOD STUFF. They are industiral grade tools - not your everyday garage tools. I used to order them a lot in my old job. We used them on automated nut-runners (dc electric & air) on assembly lines. Most plants I have been in use Apex sockets for these applications. I have a few laying around somewhere.

One thing about them though, they made what they made in batches and made the batches when they wanted to make them. Several times I called them explaining that I was with Dana Corp and we were out of a certain size and needed them BADLY for production and was willing to pay whatever to get some ASAP and was told sorry, we aren't scheduled to make any in that size for x# of days/weeks :shocking: I bought plenty extra next time though :)
