I found this today, is it a standard apex type socket or unusual? Its 4" long in 3/8" drive and at the end it has a 6 pt 5/16" flexible socket end. Any clue on when these were made? I think they are pretty cool. Any kind of value and what is the proper name Apex gives to these?

I think I can answer a question as to cost and use, not able to give you a name or date when made at this time.

As for use I believe mine came out of a factory that had the air tools mounted above and the workers were all at their stations using them.

As for cost trust me when I say if you think snap on are expensive tools; you are not even close to these suckers in price when buying them new! (As my Mother used too say if you have to ask the price you can not afford them).:scared:

Hope you enjoy the pictures::)

Universal extended socket IIRC. Apex makes lots of special industrial tools for new production manufacturing plants and the like. Majority of their tools are not really what the average home owner, auto mechanic or the like would ever really need or use, thus value, especially used, is very low. Call Apex, they are very helpful (in my experience).

I would second that emotion as they probably would be "FIVE" times the cost of Snappy tools--were designed to be used non-stop on assy line production and would be far superior to any impact tools that you would purchase from any of the truck brands... Very much a speciality item-would last a lifetime for the average user.:3gears:

A Snap on 3/8" drive universal socket is $46.00. Not as much more as you would think for Apex.

So, if I were to sell this which I will because I dont need it, what is a good price point? The price of this runs close to $90. Its a hard thing to figure on this item being a specialty tool it has a small market. What does everyone think? Its a clean like new tool after a quick cleaning.

Zkling hit the nail on the head in his post reply I only paid something like $2.50 per item so if you are thinking about becoming rich and retiring over night forget about it...:(
