Ready for a road trip? Std disclamer not mine; yada yada...

This swing arm drill press still performs like a champ. The arm extends 48" and is hinged in the center. It easily reaches any point on the 36" square clamping table. There are two motors mounted to this baby; one is high speed for drilling and one is a low speed gearhead motor for tapping. There is a reversing clutch built into the head above the chuck, great for tapping. Both motors run on 220-3 phase. It's only being sold because we're retiring.

don't forget to grab that old US vise peaking it's head out in one picture. also is that a metal lathe run with the largest belts I've ever seen? you can probably park 3 cars where these 2 machines or sitting.

Not as much as you think, I'm due for an addition! I was actually using my radial drill today making bolting flanges for a project. She's loose as a goose, but works OK for some stuff. When I get all the other shop machines done I'll have to take a closer look at it.

I've been looking at Birds too.

Yes, it is an old one......the LeBlond lathe nest to is is also of early '20's, or older, vintage, as well.....with the common 1940's war-time 'Drive-All' conversion drive.

I can't see the belt on the lathe---it looks like a belt cover to me. But I do appreciate flat belts for their safety. A hundred years ago when I was working summers at the shop with my dad, one of my jobs was drilling/reaming huge holes in engine mounts for Hendrickson trucks. I always ran them on the flat belt drill press because it would slip if the bit hung up, and not break anything. The gear-driven "widow-maker" drill presses would bust everything, and possibly your arm/leg/any-body-part-nearby.
