Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted last. I've been busy at work and was in the process of buying a new home which included the shop mentioned in the title. It's a 15x15 detached shop built on a slab, fully insulated and with an attic which is a huge plus for storage space. It's a slow work in progress but is coming along quicker than I originally thought.

Here is an outside shot from when I first moved in

Here is a panorama of the inside as of 1/15. I neglected to take a before picture but it wasn't as it is now. Lots of random nails, screws and hangers everywhere and just not as neat and tidy as I like it to be.

Here is my KRA2107 in its new spot

Here is the work bench and the radial saw that I'm still undecided about

And here is my two newest additions, the California Air Tools 6.3 gal and a 3 shelf service cart

I'm still undecided as to what to do with the shelves and workbench currently installed. More than likely the radial arm saw is coming out to make room for a spot to sit down and work on smaller items and add overall more workspace. Also going to upgrade to a bigger air compressor but the California Air 6.3 gallon works good in the mean time.

I've been looking at a ton of other garage builds taking in ideas on storage and layouts and i have to say there are some great garages on here! Sometime in the near future I'll be reprinting the walls and ceilings and putting either a RaceDeck floor or epoxy coating down. I'll be posting more now that I've gotten settled in and update the progress as it I get more done

Here's a few small updates. My dads friend who does carpentry work wanted the radial arm saw and offered me $100 dollars for it so it now has a new home. Since it was mounted in the workbench I now had a huge hole where it was so I moved the mount for the saw up and added in a section of plywood to match the other sides. Now all that's left is to figure out whether to stain it to match the other sides or put something more durable on top. While I was at it I lowered the shelf above it to give me more vertical shelf space and a place to mount a work light above the bench.

I also scored a window mounted air conditioning unit for free so I installed it too. Being as the whole shop is insulated it gets downright cold in here. It should be quite nice during summer projects.

Also the other day I scored a project to work on from a friend of mine. It's a 2002 Yamaha big bear 400 4x4. Runs great just hasn't had much in the way of maintenance during its life. So far I've rebuilt the carburetor and changed the fuel and vent lines. I also added an inline fuel filter while I was at it. Next on the list is to replace all of the wheel bearings as they are completely shot. While I have all of that apart I'll also replace the calipers, rotors, pads, etc. to make sure everything is up to par.

That's about all for now. Hopefully I'll have more updates coming soon as I've been trying to stay busy out here but life somehow has a way of interfering with all of your fun hobbies...

Well after a long hiatus I thought I’d share my updates to my shop. I have been on and off the GJ forums over the years and I figured i should update my thread. I went through and did a repaint of the walls, added some light to try and brighten the place up some. Gone are the old plastic shelving in favor of a new metal unit that holds way more with room to spare. I’ve since upgraded the air compressor to a 24 gallon Porter Cable unit as well.24B44848-4F4A-4DAE-A7E8-17962A4DF5DE.jpegADEEEC96-A202-41AB-AC63-1E8301727345.jpeg

Overall a nice unit for the price. Included are a few obligatory drawer shots. For the price it’s a great box, it was less than $500. The snap on has been moved to garage duty. 664D0BAC-8476-417E-8A3C-BB93CB2AC019.jpeg
