We've been in our house about six years now, new build, and a new Wolf oven.
So NOW I decide to read the online oven manual and find out that you are supposed to remove the rack with the full extension ball bearing Accuride slides when you use the self cleaning mode, or when you use oven cleaner.
The slide on one side is sticking and acts worse than my Waterloo slides. In the shop I would just grease them up and go, but these slides live in temperature range from 70*F to 425*F all the time.
It seems there is a "food grade high temperature grease" AKA "food machine grease" placed at the factory that gets killed, contaminated, dissolved by cleaners, thus the sticking.
Well here is the problem and my question. Anyone have knowledge and recommendations of the correct type and brand of grease to buy?
A Google search gives multiple high temp food greases ranging in price from $15 to $125/tube. And of course, Wolf/Subzero website is no help. They say in their "troubleshooting" section that replacement components for the full extension racks are not available. They also go on to say that they do not recommend or sell a brand of food grade hi temp grease. Thanks for nothin'.
So GJ, any recommendations? I hate to pay $125/tube, but if that is correct, I will do so. I also don 't want to buy the $15/tube brand and poison the family this Thanksgiving. I also searched Accuride, and the proper grade slide they have available (not quite exact model number) lists for $185/pair. So the correct grease will be my best bet since the slide is not broken.
Thanks in advance.
