Dunno what they are good for, but I've been slowly acquiring the big combo wrenches in metric for a while now. I even made a list of what I have in the large metric wrenches, combo, dbl open end, 1/2 drive sockets, etc, in MS word and printed it on a 4x6 card that I keep folded in my wallet so I can check now at a flea or pawn to see if I need a certain size. I have a mix of SO, KD, Allen, and some German brands except for 20, 21, 22, 28 and 31, and 33 and up, still looking for those.
I paid as much as $9 each for some of the KD that were new, less for some. Only large one I'd had for a long time was a 24 mm cause that was the size I needed to check rotor head bolts on a Aerospatiale helicopter for looseness.
