Hey Guys,

Friend of mine has this sitting in his garage, its a 1 1/2 Ton Wright Hoist Model BB, it seems like it all there, most things on it seem to move with the exception of the main hook. It would probably need to sit in some WD for a while, come all apart, and cleaned up etc and put back together I am sure. Any idea on a value? Thanks in advance :)

$125 seems fair to me. Maybe you can find something else to bundle together.

That thing is a beauty. There are a couple of experts on this board who hopefully will chime in soon. There are a few parts on those that develop cracks but I forget which parts they are. They were pointed out on a thread a year or so ago so best advice I can offer is go over it with a fine tooth comb looking for cracks in the cast pieces. A wire brush may help and maybe if you carefully applied wd40 with a brush it may flow into any cracks thereby revealing them. Looking at the outside though it may not have any cracks and may have been only moderately used.
Nice photos. Now I want it. In the 70's - 80's id have wanted to pay $40 -$50 for it so maybe the suggestion of $125 is reasonable today I guess.

That baby is a thing of beauty just the way it sits. I'd also suggest leaving it as is, I think it has far more value as a display than a working piece of equipment. I'd give a hundred for it without a second thought.
