The fastener inventory is mostly complete. Please click the link in my sig to download.

I will discount large diameter items (7/8 and larger) if anyone is interested.

A few notes:

  • The list contains duplicates or items with 0 for the quantity or [total] weight. This simply means that I either have not weighed the items, have not counted the items, can't find a standard weight/M online, or have multiple boxes in multiple locations. I will consolidate the "duplicate" entries and try to make the list as clean as I can. If an item is NLA, I will delete it from the list.
  • Please remember that all weights are estimated, and each prices are calculated from the weights. Orders will be weighed and billed per pound.
  • Due to the time consuming nature of filling orders, especially orders with many lines, I will not be able to guarantee exact weights. I will get reasonably close when filling boxes. Many of the items in this lot are already bagged. If the bag size is reasonable, that's what I am going to ship. Please expect the total weight (and cost) to vary a little bit from what you order.
  • I will be updating this thread regularly, as needed. To keep it from getting too long, please place orders by email (instead of posting replies in this thread), using the excel spreadsheet if at all possible. The last lot of fasteners generated a huge amount of PMs, which I find more difficult to manage than email, so please avoid them if you can. My email address is on the inventory list/order form. You can also email me through GJ.
  • I plan to build and ship orders two to three times per week. The first round of orders may not go out until early next week, however.
  • I was hoping to offer assortments this time around, but unfortunately gaps still exist, so that will not be possible.
  • I do have some metric stuff, plus other items such as sheet metal screws, etc. I will inventory them and post them as soon as I can.
  • Shipping will be via USPS flat rate boxes.
  • First come, first served! Popular items, and low stock items will sell quickly!
  • I may ask for a deposit on very large orders.

Thanks, and enjoy!

I have them about 80% sorted now. It will take me a while to price them--there will be about 130 unique items. I hope to have it done by week's end. I'll start another thread for those.

using the excel spreadsheet if at all possible.

To those with experience using Excel: you just enter the quantity in that field and the spreadsheet should do all the calculations for price, right?

I'm using Excel 2000, I think.

Thanks.

email sent, sorry about no excel, was hoping I could find a free version, but only a reader.:(

a few more of these, and my bolt bin will be stocked.:spit:

Only 41 items on the list so far.:lol_hitti

In the long run though, this will save money from making a 45 minute run for a few stupid bolts.

Edit: A suggestion, if I may. If you delete some of the entries on the excel sheet, leave the space there, so the lines don't change. I included the line item for each item in my email, so if there's any problems, you can at least look at a blank sheet and see what it is, or even fill one out with the weight I want.

This might help you some with those of us that can't fill out excel. The viewer itself is free, I downloaded it.

If anybody is looking for a free alternative to Microsoft Word, excel, or powerpoint, I would recommend Openoffice from Openoffice.org

Its free and will allow you to open and edit excel sheets.

The reason I can prefer excel is I can easily resort the list in the order I walk by the racks, which is not necessarily the order that you want to look at the items. I can use it to do calculations (those columns are hidden), but usually I will box everything, take all the items that are the same $/lb and throw them all on the scale together.

My thoughts too.

On Excel, it'd be nice if the sheet calculated the price after you'd entered quantities. Maybe it's supposed to do this, and I'm not doing something right. I finally filled out the old sheet from 4/15/09 and now I'm trying to get this one done! Also notice on grade 8 washers that we've got SAE and USS and then a bunch with that field blank and a couple fields over with a div=0 field ??? Are there three distinct types of grade 8 washers then?

there are two types. I have a rack of stuff at my house with about a ton of stuff, and approx. another three tons at my other place. the stuff at my house isn't specified whether its SAE or USS. once I bring it over to the other place and merge the containers I will fix all the weirdness. the items that have DIV/0 either don't have total weights entered, or I couldn't find standard weights online. I'll fix those too.

I updated the sheet to do the calculations. it will take whatever number you enter in column A and subtotal it into column Q. It will total column Q down at the bottom (row 450 or so). Remember that this only works if you enter pounds into column A, and that this is only an estimate. To make this a bit easier to manage you may want to hide some of the intermediate columns if you don't need to view all the info...

I'll keep my eyes peeled my interest is in the metric and electrical pars as your fractional stuff is too big for my needs.

So do I understand that you want our order amounts in weight? Or quantity of said item? which is easier for you? BTW, this appears to be the old list still (as of Feb 15 2009). Thanks:thumbup:

I prefer weight, but I'll take what I can get.

the list should have a 4/1 date on it. The files on the website are current, please make sure you're not loading it from cache in your browser.

Good call. it took me a bit of stumbling to get it out of "read only" so I could add the numbers in, but I'm a complete computer tard.

Thanks for the tip.
