As in when you are doing some quick work on some dirty stuff in your street clothes and you don't feel like getting changed.

Any recommendations?

+1 I keep an old flanell shirt in my toolbox. If I have to get in there it has great coverage. I save the Apron for cooking out "I'll be a dirty old man until I'm a dead old man"

I have one similar to this one; mine has only 3 pockets and no hammer hook. Have had it for over 5 years and it has held up well. I highly recommend it; this ain't a cheapie or a throw away:

These can be ordered from DuluthTrading.com.

Dickie coveralls are only around $30(Currently on sale for $16 on the Dickies website). I keep one in my shop for protecting what I am wearing. Don't even have to take your shoes off.

I think they're $39.99 otherwise.

At least you wont get hit by a car. :bounce:

That price is for 40 reg, 48 reg, and 4Xtall. For $16 who cares what color it is in the privacy of your own shop.

Basic Coveralls (in dark blue) are $31 to $33.

I don't know what "street clothes" is, but I think you mean what I would call Sunday Best or church clothes??

I go change cause even if I wear 14 layers of coveralls and a body sized condom I STILL will somehow ruin what I am wearing. Shoot even just walking in the garage is enough to get some kind of grease or oil stain that will never wash out!

I have some OSHA orange shirts and coats and I get eyeballed at the store when I have them on. Oh well, no reason to head over to Wal-Mart with the fancy 3 piece suit huh?! I have no one to impress.

Street clothes is anything you wouldn't normally wear in the garage.

Yea, they're nice. I used to use them at work, too. They cost a bunch the last time I priced them.

I recommend getting a good leather apron. It is good for sparks, metal spatter, and gives you some protection from acid. It will be a bit heavier though.
