Picked up a Power House circular saw over the weekend and the arbor is smaller than the standard 5/8'' hole. I believe the arbor is 1/2''.

Is there such a thing as an arbor adapter or are these common for the 7 1/4 blades? Any info would be appreciated.

Here is a pic of the label

They sell adapters, check places like Woodworkers Supply and such. I get thier catalog once a year or so and have seen those adapters.

yes, some of the blades will come with a little washer type thing that is a spacer.
I will look in my stuff and see if I have one. if need be I can make you one on the lathe

I have one of the little spacers if you need it
I would go to the store and look for a new blade and see if they have one that will come with the spacer.
another option is that I have a ton of spare blades, I could spare to sell a couple if you wanted.
the spacer I have is in the package with a black&decker blade

I'm not sure if the OP has access to a HF, but they sell a whole pack of adapters, which contains several different sizes. It's a bit overkill, but it should include the one you want.

Wow, thanks GJ! I know I can get my questions answered here!

As far as knock-outs, all of the blades I saw at Sears with the smaller arbor were not for the 7 1/4 blades. They had a triangular knock out on some, but not what Im looking for.

64merc - Thanks for the tip, I guess adapters are something I could justify buying from HF. I have one the city over and I will take a look.

Rsanter - PM'd you!!
