In your basement...seriously, go look now!
I just got the P507 61/2" cordless saw and while the motor works great I can't free the arbor screw to save my life. I used the spindle lock and turned the allen wrench as hard as I could in the "lefty-loosey" direction but got nowhere. I tried to use my impact driver on it with no luck. I even tried to use my impact wrench on low...still nothing. I tried to reverse the drive in case someone had a fun day on the assembly line ("let's reverse one just for kicks!")and still no go. I'd hate to have to return it but I don't see much choice - I can't heat up the screw without damaging the saw and I don't think drilling into the screw for extraction will do much good. Any ideas folks?:dunno:

As mentioned above - Not on a blade left saw.

For reference - :see:

Here, I read the owners manual so you don't have to.

Now that you know the direction it should turn to loosen, I'd put the saw on the floor and lean down on the impact gun.

The funny thing is I actually tried to turn it clockwise to begin with - I resorted to counter-clockwise when it didn't budge. I may have to drill it out after all, the head is a little stripped and I have arbor screws that will fit (got a whole bunch of them from somewhere or another, can't recall why but now they'll come in useful).

Update: Using a titanium drill bit I managed to drill through the screw and then I put a self-tapping screw into the hole, used my impact driver to force the threads in and voila! The arbor screw is out. Now I have to order a new screw but that's a lot cheaper than a new saw (tested the motor without a blade, still runs!).
