I see that costco has the same jack in red(seems like the same) but I don't ahave a membership there.

Does anyone have more online coupons I can use to get the price down lower at northern?

The Costco jack has a bumper cushion on the handle, and a rubber cover on the lift pad. Seems to be worth the $90 although I haven't used it too much yet.

What a coincidence. I just bought the same jack last week and just used it for the first time today. I really like it so far. It's ~100lbs so you may need someone to help you lift it in and out of your car. It rolls very nice on the floor and lifted my car with ease and quickly. For that price, get it!

Yeah I wish it was aluminum.

The northern tool jack is 3.5 tons... I believe the costco is only 3 tons. I have the Northern Tool Arcan and love it. I made my own handle cushion from some foam pipe insulation I had laying around.

I have an Arcan (3t) jack. Love it. It's a great jack and nothing but reliable and dependable. It lifts very quickly (two pistons) and doesn't take much effort to pump. It's very solid. Really good jack overall, i don't have a single complaint. Never had a clearance issue either. I want to buy another.

Why the allure of aluminum jacks?

Unless your transporting them from site to site there is no advantage.

The disadvantage is that they cost more and usually have lower capacity ratings.

A 100lb Arcan can roll across a flat concrete floor just as well as an aluminum jack.

It's on sale for $109.00 and I have a 20 dollar off coupon on purchases $100 dollars or more. So about $90 bucks and I can have it..sound slike a good deal!
But does anyone have this jack and how do you like it, it's a bit heavy..... but it has great reviews on the northern tool site.

I bought the red one at costco and love it. I was going to pull the trigger on the one at northern tool right after thanksgiving when it was $100 on sale, but the shipping was $70! Depending on how much your shipping works out to be, it might still be cheaper to buy a $50 costco membership and get the jack there. And if I remember right, it was $95 at costco...

Another Costco Arcan owner here. I say go for it, I really like mine. Like others have said, it weighs a ton, but it's built really well, lifts fast and has really smooth operation. It has a grease fitting on the main pivot, and the u joint for the handle twist is easy to lube. I expect it to last a long time.

I got mine from Northern Tool and they delivered to the store at no charge. One way to avoid shipping charges.

I have a northern store about 15 minutes away so hopefully they have them in stock. And I would like aluminum because my driveway is an exposed aggregate driveway, which makes rolling a bit tougher.

Looked for this jack yesterday at the Winchester Va. Costco and didn't see them. I did see those stools pictured above. The Winchester store doesn't have much in the way of automotive stuff.

Does anyone know the clearance from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the wheel? I know its a low profile jack but it doesn't look like much ground clearance at all?
