My independent tool dealer is getting a Cornwell cart on trade. He says it's one with drawers top to bottom. I'm looking for a cheaper cart and his price sounds good. Are all Cornwell carts of the same build quality or are some cheaper? Are they just rebrands or are they made by Cornwell?

I know nothing about them but if the cart is all drawers and as good as the 4 drawer Homak one at NAPA, I'm interested.

No.

There are two series of all drawer (no bulk storage area) carts.

The 700 series and the 800 series.

The 700 series is Chinese made and is slightly smaller overall at roughly 38.5 wide by 20 inches deep.

The 800 series is made by Waterloo in their Mexico plant is beefier and measures 44 wide by 26 deep.

Both are great carts but, are not equal. To start there's about a $1000 difference in price between the two. Visit www.cornwelltools.com for specifics.

I've owned a 700 series cart for about 8 years now. It serves as my main box as I move around the shop. It has served me well.

Depending on what model cart he had, it very well could be the same has the homark. I had a four drawer cart. It was a nice big cart. I ended up getting rid of it because it didn't really fit my needs. Its imported and built quality is OK.
