Are all Proto rebuild kits the same? Best Sources for them?

Just picked up 2 proto ratchets, 5449 & 5249, 1/2 and 3/8 drive respectively. They need to be rebuilt (broken springs). Are all rebuild kits for these the same? these seemed pretty old. They don't say los Angeles on them so they aren't too old, but there are no date codes like craftsman has so I have no idea if a kit that says 5449 rebuild works for all ratchets with 5449 stamped on the plate.

Any input from the GJ brain trust? Also any place that is best to get these? I saw Amazon had a bunch but was wondering if there are other options.

Also anyone know if there is a difference between ratchets with the J in front, I am seeing kits that say J5449. Does J5449= 5449? What does the J mean in certain Proto SKUs?
