Are Blackhawk by proto tools still being produced?

I got curious about blackhawk tools specifically sockets. Zoro lists most of their stock not available and so does grainger. However they're still listed on the proto website. Are they still being made? And if so can anyone recommend me a good vendor?

What are you looking for? There's an eBay guy (check Hot Deals section) selling long reach pliers, duckbills, and a few others.

AFAIK they are still available. They seem to get good reviews on here. I don't personally have any from this century, just a couple of older odd bits.

Last year I bought Blackhawk sockets and a ratchet for my motorcycle kit, on Ebay. I think probably from the guy mentioned above. He has a lot of great deals. Less than $15 for a deep 1/4" metric set and like $10 for a ratchet.

As far as I know, they're still available. However, you have to wonder if the Stanley/Proto people might drop Blackhawk in favor of their Expert line. :dunno:

There is one last independent auto parts guy in town about a mile from the house. He still has some USA blackhawk available and I buy from time to time. He told me he is closing up shop March of 17. I plan on making him offers on what he has left before he closes up. Maybe I might score, maybe not. I do like Blackhawk tools though, nice chrome and so far durable.

Sockets are USA made
Yup. I've been building a set of Blackhawk 1/2 drive chrome sockets to replace some Craftsman ones, and they've all been stamped as US made. Like them better than the Williams USA sockets that are the bulk of my other good sockets.

Update - I emailed Proto and received an answer. I'm still waiting for the locations as the rep asked if there were any particular tools I was interested in, but Blackhawk tools are still being produced and they still carry the brand.

I have two sets of Blackhawk sockets & ratchets that I purchased about 10 years ago and, as far as I know, they are still being produced. They have performed fine with no problems; however, my biggest gripe with Blackhawk sockets is the very small size stamping on them. I find the the sizes VERY difficult to read.

^ I see Blackhawk ratcheting combination wrenches listed on Ebay frequently - all of them are stamped "Taiwan".

The double box reversible are freaking awesome! My SAE is Blackhawk, my metrics are Stanley, they are identical (other than sizes of course!).....grab them if you find them cheap!
