I don't know what your budget for this is, but take at look at your loacl Sam's or Costco, they have stainless boxes that are really well made for very reasonable prices - I bought mine for about $650 and the boxes empty weigh almost 600lbs!

Mine looks just like this one, the slides are really smooth, the metal is not flimsy, the casters are large and really heavy duty - it was a great buy....

Below, that's mine in my garage....you can get a feeling for the size of it from my older Craftsman behind it and my older Snap On to the left. It's a BIG box!

To much chrome for me! He wouldn't like that much chrome.

I have the HF 42" top and bottom. After I got mine 2 other guys bought the top and bottom and the 2 side cars. Had to take them out of the boxes to fit them all in my truck at one time. I just added the side locker a few months ago. I agree that they should be deeper. But solid built and all ball bearing drawers, the deep ones have double bb slides. The only downside, You can only get red in the store. You would have to order other colors and pay for shipping, i would have had to pay $175.00 just for shipping. Although the weight they have them listed at on the website, I think is a little exagerated.

I wouldnt pay for shipping because it would only cost like $15 to go there and back for me. Only problem is I dont have a truck, so need to find someone with a truck.

I like mine! I have the 5-drawer tool cart (you CAN use the 20% coupon on the tool carts) and I would highly recommend it for any home shop user. (OH...I took the chrome trip off mine...just personal preference)...

I also bought the 7-drawer end cabinet (you can NOT use the 20% coupon on the end box) and I am astonished at the quality of the build. The end box is temporarily parked on my tool cart, but I will eventually build it into another storage unit...

My only beef with the HF carts is that they aren't very deep (only about 18" deep). As far as build quality, I think any home user would be very pleased with the quality...I know I am.

i have a coupon code to get this service cart for 159.99....they won't let me use the 20% off with that will they?

It depends...if it is a 'Super Coupon,' then you cannot combine any other coupons to get a better price. If it is just a 'sale price,' you can add a 20% coupon on this item (for some reason, they don't consider it a tool box, which would not get to use the coupon). I used a 20% coupon on the regular sale price (normal price) of $200 and took it out the door for about $170 (including tax).

No.
There is an extensively worded use policy on every printed coupon they make that extends to any digital coupon as well. Essentially, you can't double up on coupons.

Also keep in mind you can get that cart for $199 in the stores and then use the 20% off coupon and that gets you to around $160 or $161 so we are really talking about a dollar or two here.

If my daughter were to give me a tool box, I really wouldn't care if it was high end, the "right" color or anything else. If it came from my daughter, I would be very happy with whatever tool box she gave me. Your dad may well be the same way.

Correct my dear....
But--- the 4-dwr black and 5-drwr red lift-lid service carts are considered " carts" and not toolboxes which excludes them from the fine print and thus HF allows the 20% coupon.

How long the semantics of that goes on is unknown but they do it as of today and have been for years.

I have the HF 5-dwr lift-lid cart converted over to Snap-On non-shock lid hinges in my garage and it is the "bees-knees" for that $160-ish price all day long. Especially since they got rid of the maroon crinkle coat and are now doing the std. bright red powder coat finish.

Sadly I do have the old style maroon finish on mine which has been sanded down and professional clear coated to avoid dust build up a long time ago, but that's another story for another time. LOL.

It's still an awesome buy for $160.

BTW the 4-drawer black cart is on sale for $99 via coupon, I just used mine I found in either a newspaper or magazine, but they're available from eBay for a buck or two.
