Are K-D and Allen tools any good?

I don't know about older K-D drive tools, but I have quite a few of their plier-type car tools and they seem decent enough. I get them fairly cheap at pawn shops, so, they're a win-win in my book.

I've got some Allen USA full polish sockets and wrenches. I think the chrome is nice. I really like the sockets, which I bought as singles to fill in some holes. The wrenches are nice, but a little shorter than you might expect for auto work. They are good for electrical and household jobs, though.

Master force, Allen, USA Made KD, Napa, Armstrong, and some craftsman were all made by Danaher prior to Apex tool group acquisition and subsequent shut down of these brands...

I have an Allen 1/2 drive long flex and wasn't a huge fan of it. Same mechanism as a Craftsman but metal selector instead of plastic. I wasn't planning on using tools when I went to grab a tractor today but I needed a ratchet and a socket. I just happened to have the Allen ratchet and the right socket. I'll be damned if the ratchet didn't do the job without a single problem. Sometimes having a tool is better than none.

Exactly my experience. I was disappointed with the ergonomics, but every time I grab it by mistake in the heat of battle, it does the job without issue.

I usually look at it halfway through the activity, realize what I have in my hand, do a wtf, and finish without incident.

Really strange...
