Are Tags Gone Now?

If Ryan removed them, then they are probably gone for good. I wouldn't expect to see them back if they were removed.

Great news!!! Some of those tags were why I didn't renew my Alliance membership. I'm all for having a little fun, but I'd like to see some of the idiotic stuff the goes on around here stop. Most of you guys have so much to offer, so there is no reason to act like children.

The tags were not useful for their intended purpose and just created a way for people to make anonymous snide comments.
Note - I was never the target of one of the snide comments, so I'm not someone who didn't like them for that reason. They were just dumb.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say "I've tagged myself." If you want to keep track of threads you can subscribe to them.

I meant that I always tagged my own threads with useful tags and saw that they were gone.
I am kinda sad to see the tags go as they were a way to see how people really felt. People were a lot more honest in them than they were in posts where they felt the obligation to conform to what society sees as "civil". If I had ever gotten a "Bosses son" or similar tag on one of my threads I'd have to reevaluate whether I was being stupid or something, rather than getting upset. Now I just have to wonder if I'm being stupid without feedback.

I disagree... I think they were a good way to see how people with really low self esteem cope with their little lives... To me, it was really really sad...
I mean, I can't think of an excuse for any kind of a decent man to call another man a "**** head" on the internet... on a forum about tools and garages...

The ones in the WTF threads were pretty funny.
I hated it when people would add ones to a thread that had nothing to do with the thread. I did however use them on more than one occasion to add input when we had a member that seemed to be a previously banned user, but I don't think I was ever really nasty about it.
I did have a few threads that I started where people left really nasty ones, I just ignored it.

I hope you don't hold the tags from the WTF thread against us, those were all intended as stupid but funny. I think it was almost more fun to read the tags than the thread itself.
Thanks for taking the time, the site is a great one and it is like my second garage. I enjoy free parking almost as much as I hate it. Just depends on the topic, seems like there is always someone trying to instigate responses that escalate into middle school name calling contests.
