Are there socket sizes that never get used?

I was looking at my metric 3/8" drive sockets from 7mm to 22mm and noticed the 20mm looked like new, as if it was never used compared to all the others. Are there any nuts and bolts with a 20mm head out there?

Of course there are.
If my memory serves me well, my old beemer has a couple and I think VW may have needed a 20mm wrench on their old air cooled motors.

The real questions should be, 6 point or 12 point? Do I need combination wremches if I have ratchet wrenches? Do I need sae AND metric? What do people think of harbor freight tool boxes? Is snap on really worth it?

Well yeah, I use combo spanners to undo & ratchet combo spanners to tighten afterwards, it helps speed up the job & doesn't wear out the ratchet spanners & I prefer them in twelve point, unless the fastners have been butchered, then I use 6 point sockets or a nut splitter if I can get them in. Most of my needs are Metric & E-Torx, being the most common tools used. I also prefer Snap-On, but do have other brands.

Hi everyone.

A 9mm 12pt socket is essential during clutch changes on VAG 1.9 tdi engines.

The clutch cover is clamped to the flywheel via 9mm/12pt bolts.

I have a 41mm socket used on Alfa Romeo crankshaft bolts. It's a pretty big socket yet is 1/2 inch drive. And I just remembered that even late model Fords have 5.5mm head trim screws.

What the hell does this mean and why do you always put it at the start of your posts? Are you a pirate or something?

This has been asked before, never got a response from poster, so subscribed to see why the hell someone takes time to type some kind of local dialect jibberish before each post!:willy_nil:lol_hitti
