They are also lay-in lights, so unless you are putting in a drop ceiling they will be a pain to work with and look like ****.

I would avoid any T12 fixtures. They are being phased out in favor of the T8 fixture.

I bought a bunch of the Lights of America T8 4 foot units at Walmart. 10 bucks give or take each. Assembled in the USA (using USA and Foreign parts).

Been working just fine for me for a couple of years now.

Avoid buying anything with the transformer ballast in them. Soon you won't be able to buy replacement ballasts, and if you do, you are wasting electricity, and have a very heavy fixture from the ballast weight, when you really want the lightweight electronic ballast.

Check the voltage / phase, commercial may not run 110

There is no such thing as three phase lights. The two most common voltages for florescent fixtures are 120 & 277 volts.

To the OP, in viewing the photos in the CL ad, the lamps shown appear to be T12 & those recessed troffers are intended to be installed in a suspended T-bar ceiling.

The electromagnetic ballasts were phased out a few years ago, there are T12 electronic ballasts avail. for replacement if someone wanted.

Standard T12 lamps are phased out as of July 2012. Some other T12 stuff is still being made till 2014. T12 HO cold start lamps are exempt and will still be available. If you have T12 HO fixtures, don't sweat, you can still get lamps. At least until they come along with another stupid regulation because the T12HO is creating too much heat that helps cause global warming.

Awesome to hear! I can't recommend the HO lights any more, the light output is amazing!!! I now have what looks like a brightly lit laboratory in my garage with only an 8 foor section...
