I was gifted these.

They look unused. The pouch is like new.

But….

No name at all on the files. And, I’ve never seen a snap on file or any other tool for that matter with a wooden handle like this.

So, is this actual snap on product or is this a snap on pouch with non snap on product inside?

Why does it matter? Collectibility. And I have good snap on service.IMG_3337.jpegIMG_3335.jpegIMG_3338.jpeg

Have you pulled the wood handle off to check the shank? Some files are marked there.

Wood handles are somewhat standard on some files and files sets.
Maine Wood Concepts seems to be one of the major producers of wood file handles nowadays, and makes “Lutz” and “Skroo-Zon” branded file handles, and probably also makes file handles for other brands.

As for Snap-On, a quick google image search shows plenty of wood handled file sets, and Snap-On was not a file producer, so their files have always come from other file makers.
In the past, Nicholson or Simonds was likely producing the files if USA made, and currently, Tome Feteira of Portugal nay be, since Tome is producing most of the files for Bahco, which is now owned by Snap-On as part of Snap-On Europe.
Snap-On does sell both newer rubberized plastic bi-material file handles, and older style wood handles on their current website.
Wood handled file sets are still common from other tool brands that offer plastic custom file handles as well.
