Are these Mastercraft Combination Wrench Set, 14-pcs, Metric good? They're dirt cheap right now. Like can I take off rusty fasteners with them? Also anyone know if they are GearWrench or Crescent rebrands? I think they are made in China.
Nice, yah they seem to have good reviews too. I just picked up 2 sets, might give one to a friend. Thanks for the feedback.I've had little to no problems with mastercraft wrenches. I think all I've returned in the last couple years is an 8mm open end that opened up and got a new one free w no questions.
I know most of not all of their ratcheting wrenches are gearwrench, not sure about the standard wrenches, but they are good enough quality for a home shop most definitely.
Awesome lol.I hit those with hammers for nearly 10 years, they're good.
Nice, seems like their hand tools or at least their wrenches are good quality or good enough, specially at this price point. I wonder if they still use the same supplier.I bought a set of both metric and imperial at least 10 years ago. At 70% off. They have been solid with no issues and very nice chrome.
Assuming they are still made the same I recommend them for the home or road box.

True. Are these long pattern though? It says that they're longer than standard wrenches under features but no mention of long pattern anywhere.CanTire periodically changes the branding, packaging, number of pieces in the set, supplier, pricing, etc. so there can be a bit of an ebb and flow to it. But in general - and specifically at this point in time - they’ve been pretty good at using their buying power to offer pretty good product for a pretty good price. You can easily spend more and get less. And you have to spend quite a bit more to get even a bit better. Particularly for the long pattern chrome wrenches.
Someone commented when those sets were moved from Maximum to Mastercraft branding that it was because of them aligning each brand with a supplier, but I’m not convinced - pliers definitely have a different supplier than wrenches, for instance. I don’t know that it matters, whether Stanley, Apex/Gearwrench, or other, supply a specific item, they are built to a CTC spec and carry a CTC warranty, and need to be judged on those merits.
