Are these ratchet straps useless?

See pics. I got them with something I bought years ago and have never been able to use them....no provision for a hook on the end, and nothing to wrap through the center. Is there something wrong here or am I just confused?

Their endlesa straps wrap them round the object and feed the tail into the centre again

They're made to be used like a belt. Wrapped around and back through themselves. They come in very handy actually, if the strap is long enough.

I use the hookless variety for items on the roof rack of my wagon!
Just wrap it around as described by previous poster.

Correct. good for securing bundles of wood , pipe , etc together.

I use some to hold my torch tanks against a post.

I use them all the time when I need to tie items on top of my car, darn things have paid for themselves many times over.
