Are these relays equivalent?

Are these relays electrically equivalent?

The pin numbers and locations are the same, but the diagrams are different (although both have 30 (common) normally closed to 87a).

This is from a John Deere X310 mower. In the picture, one is the old and the other is a generic from parts store. The bad one is toasted, so I cannot compare them with a meter.

In case anyone knows about this mower, would its failure prevent spark? Or just crank? I'm scratching my head here. When the relay burned up, there was a loud backfire and the mower died, resulting in no crank/no spark. The generic relay restores crank, but still no spark. I'm hoping the ignition module isn't toasted.

Relays are the same.can you ohm the new relay per the diagram?sounds like when your mower quit another issue may have fried the relay.maybe not but check your safeties/limit switches and fuses.you can try and google john deere x 310 won't start.you may pull up some similar issues or a john deere mower forum.my nephew has a commercial zero turn deere and his quit abruptly.he borrowed my mower and he was going to take his to john d.so im good with this stuff asked the symptoms,googled a bit and tested his safeties.he had a bad one on his hyd steering controls.so google sure won't hurt!

You'll probably get it figured out.i did a small search and found similar issues.although i dont know what exactly happened or your testing skills.but similar mowers had close to same problem and found things like blown fuses,bad engine module,which should be small black box under hood.or safeties.fyi tractor by net.com has forum dedicated to john deere lawn tractors.repair clinic.com has how diagnose with video on your mower.so theres lots of info out there.

If the mower backfired and died, you might want to check the flywheel key....a sheared key could prevent spark.

The backfire could also indicate the coil going bad.
