There is currently one for sale close to me for $230. There are no foam organizers with the box. I'm wondering if it would be a good replacement for my current Blue Point travel box.

This is what I currently have. It has my UTI student set in it. Nothing wrong with the box I have. I'm just generally dissatisfied and always looking for a new tool related fix. I also feel a bit bad about this one bouncing around in the back of the truck.

Sorry for the links but I'm still at a loss for how to imbed inter web images from my iDevices.

They are pretty durable, they are also pretty small so keep that in mind. They have a plastic outer shell with metal walls standard friction slides and metal drawers. They were designed for FOD applications, hence they were "soft" on the outside and typically contained foam for shadowing. I think it would be much better than your current box IMHO.

I haven't been able to get down to buy this box yet. It has gotten me thinking about what I could do with it, though. My student set that I would use the new box for is pretty basic. SAE and metric shallow sockets, 3/8 ratchet, wrenches 3/8 to 3/4 and 10mm to 19, three flat screwdrivers and two Phillips, small scraper, standard pliers, needle nosed pliers, side cutter, wire strippers, hammer, small Allen wrench sets and that's about it.

I take my current kit with me to junk yards, on trips to buy cars, trips to pick up equipment, trips to visit family, etc. I have pulled tires off small cars, put wheels back on rigs in an emergency, lots of little things on the road and pulled lots of small parts at yards. The kit is not comprehensive by any means and I'd probably ad a few things like a bit driver, flashlight, pry bar, vise grip, and adjustable wrench to make it more versatile.

I kind of think this would be the ultimate simple tool kit. Not much for today's modern vehicles but good enough for most rigs up to the nineties.
