Perusing the Snap-On catalog this weekend, I discovered "extension connectors" in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive.

Snap-On FZ1

Are they useful, or just more "chrome clutter" for a toolbox?

they actually did when i needed a really long line wrench. just used it to snap together an 18'' extension and a crowsfoot and got 'r' done. they don't get used daily, but when you need them they're nice to have.

You can also use them with a short extension in tight spaces to run a bolt or nut in when it's too sticky to spin it down with just the socket. Handy, but not essential.
