Are you adding Air Compressor Moisture Reservoirs to help protect tanks? My 1972 1HP Sears Campbell Hausfeld had a leak in the tank in 2-3 years. I was given a new tank returned to Sears due to a bad weld.

1. I repaired the weld and put the tank in my attic until I needed it. It is still there today.
2. The pin-hole leak in the tank w/n a serious matter since a self tapping screw and O-Ring has held.
3. I got concern about all the water I was draining yearly and felt I needed a thicker moisture reservoir and easier draining.
4. Add a Galvanize pipe and a flex line was my solutions that have worked.
5. While in the prevention mode, I added a 12 hr timer to the receptacle to help turn the compressor off.

I use a secondary / primary tank aka knock out drum to help reduce moisture to the main tank. the primary tank is approx 3 gallons.
