Fein are very good tools. I have a 1400W Metabo 4" grinder at work and when it dies it will be replaced by a Fein, I regret not getting the Fein straight away.

We have Fein drills at work and they're very durable and powerful.

strange it's a huge looking thing but is only 72.3 ft-lbs??? what would be the purpose for such a thing?

on a assembly line for example. You can get a holder for that tool so you can attach it to a balancer. The torque of that impact can be adjusted within a accuracy of +- 10% so you can assemble something with it with a defined torque.

Not every impact is made to remove wheels :)

One day I'll be able to afford things like that :D

You don't need that tool. It is an industrial tool designed for assembly line use. It is very accurate and can run for hours on end, day after day. Like Monte said, not every impact gun is designed to take your lug nuts off.

I was more or less kidding. There are uses for that, yes. But not that 99.99% of your average joes will ever need.

christmas money + birthday money ..... e voila !... :)

Already blew a couple hundred of the Christmas money on stuff I don't need (I swear, those boots were really worn down, even though they're a month old! I NEEDED another pair...). And for my birthday.. I'll be "getting" the ability to have my mother co-sign a few more loans for me

As for this veryyyy specific tool in the OP, there's actually a lot of production-style tooling like that. And a lot of it makes your eyes go O__O when you see the cost, but it's for a reason, as stated.

:) Then a few hundreds more to buy the impact won´t hurt :D

Some pics of Fein industrial ("High Frequency" (200 Volt/300 Hertz)) tools. The larger ones are made completely of cast aluminium (except handle):

Fein Pro tools are no joke like Monte alludes to. Ask any Auto glass installer. They will have a "Feil Knife" which is actually a "Supercut" same action and looks as the Multicut you see on the late night TV but a totally different build quality (and price.) If my job required a daily use grinder or some other power tool it would be a Fein, followed by Metabo.
