My floor is over 6 years old and in fantastic condition. However, I parked a car in the third bay for about two months (rarely ever park there) and a brown/orange stain has appeared. It will not come off with simple green and scrub brush. Also tried WD-40. Also tried a magic eraser, with little success, but those do damage the top clear coat and remove the satin finish and make it matte. Anyone seen this or have solutions? I cant use paint thinner, alcohol, etc. as it damages the finish after contact. Picture attached and stain in center.tirestain.jpg

Ugh... It looks like the dreaded tire stain that almost all coatings can encounter at some point. This happens when plasticizers from tires leach out of the rubber. It's most common with high-performance tires and good all-season tires. They can be very hard to remove.

Last year we had a reader report success with 100% isopropyl alcohol. He let it dwell for 5 minutes and then wiped it off. We have also had reports of success when using a product called NAB Black Streak & Tire Mark Remover. You can find it here. They have small sample-size bottles that you can purchase to try out.

Above is correct, unfortunately certain tires have additives and plasticizers that can stain even porcelein or ceramic tile. We have seen situations where there are 2-3 cars in a garage and two of the bays are fine for years, and then a third bay gets the stains from the leaching in of the additives.

The only solution that we know of to 100% prevent these types of stains is parking pads or use of the newer silicone/ceramic additional topcoasts such as Ballistix or Coval which we carry. Many professional installers are now offering these coatings as an additional layer of protection against staining.

We agree with the above repair solution, but if not protected with an additional topcoat like Ballostix or COVAL the stains will come back.

New pour concrete here with tire marks.
I wanted a clean surface before staining and sealing.
Could only find 92% iso-alcohol here and scrubbed it with a wire brush (no dwelling here).
It worked GREAT!
There were some tough marks where the vehicle was not moving when the tire direction was changed.
Those I had to let the alcohol sit, scrub and sometimes repeat.
