Ok been reading and reading for weeks now, and have changed my mind more than once, the more I read the more I start second guessing my choice. I was going to do a clear over my concrete floor, then decided to try a coating and clear like ucoat it, but the more I read about it the more I hear about issues with it. So I think I’ve decided on the ArmorClad kit. I’m looking at adding the primer , and military two part top coat. Any thing I should add or do beside the kit? This will be a 1200 sqft working shop with two post lift and such.

same boat i am in. I was originally looking at ucoat also, but after emailing with armorpoxy, getting samples i am going to go with them. So far their support has been top notch in answering all my questions and concerns.

Thanks for the info, makes me a bit more confident in my decision. Now just need to decide of flake size , I’m thinking the black, red, and white in a med grey base color.

Ne sure to buy a bunch of home depot 5 gal pails for mixing. And buy a bunch of 18" rollers for epoxy (on amazon). When you get the spikes, be sure to tighten all the nuts that hold the spikes on. Search here and find my write-up from Sept of 2017 when I did armorclad and that will give you a ton of pointers. It is a great product.

Ordered my armor clad kits today. Should get the order first of next week , then hope to get it installed by the following week.

Got my shipment in today, so ran by the station to check it out, and found that the shipping company had damaged one of the boxes and it was leaking. [emoji35] it was one of the 1gallon cans of the part A of the primer. Appears something smashed the top of the box and busted the seal on the lid, and a little leaked out. Guess I’ll call in the morning and get it resolved. Seems like every time I try to get this floor project done SOMETHING always goes astray.

You will be very happy with the product. I used it for flooring in a rental house and it has held up to just about everything even a hurricane, flooding, gutting and a complete rebuild of the house interior with almost no noticeable effects. It’s good stuff when applied properly.

I’m hoping so, if it turns out anything like I have in mind it will then I’ll be more than pleased. As for the damaged gallon, less than 2 minutes on the phone and all was taken care of, super easy and great service.

FINALLY able to start putting on the coating, had a few oil spots I seemed to not be able to remove completely so I ordered a half gallon of oil block primer. Did the area that had the oil spots Saturday morning, later that night about 11 pm was able to go out and do the two part standard primer on the entire floor, I finished at 2:30 AM Monday morning I will be able to do the epoxy coat and flecks, then the clear coat Tuesday morning and call it FINISHED.

I got the epoxy down late this morning, turned out pretty nice as far as I’m concerned. Clear will go on in the morning and then I can call it finished. Then I can get to work on insulation and interior wall metal.

Light makes the first pic look like a tan color but it’s light gray.

This has better light and shows the color better.

Thank you, just went out and looked at it, it’s firmed up really nice so in a couple hours I’ll put the clear on.

NO !! I’ve never done this before , only been in one other small garage that had a floor coating with flakes , so no experience at all. I do some auto painting, and been around that a bunch, so I understand prep work and mixing the systems alone with work times. I will say I mixed up 300 sqft at a time and that’s a workout for one person to spread, back roll and flake. I used a 18” roller and a 24” squeegee for the main areas , then used the small 4” roller and small 6 or 8” squeegee for the trimming around the stairs to the loft, corners, doors and posts.

Floor is FINISHED !!! Now to walk off and leave it be for at least a week.
