I have an od green tool chest that is stenciled Amorer's Tool Chest M1. There are no other distinctive markings, placards or stamped numbers on it that I can detect. I bought it with intentions of using it as a toolbox for my 1940 Chevy pickup. I decided not to use it as it is too big for what I'd like to use it for. It measures 11 1/4" wide X 20 1/4" long X 13 1/4" at the center peak. It does not have the leather handle, it closes up good and has some surface rust on the bottom but very mininum. I'd like to get $35.00 plus shipping for it. Thanks for looking. SOLD

That appears to be an old WWII era M1 Garand, M1A or M1 Carbine armorers chest. It was probably issued to armory officers that were tasked with repairing and maintaining infintry rifles. It would have been issued with all of the weapon specific tools and repair parts that went with that weapon platform.
I don't know for sure, but I would think that if it was authentic, it would have its own numeric identifcation designation. It's not stamped anywhere with a date code or anything?

Pistol Whip,
I couldn't find any other markings on it. It might not be authentic. I guess a better description would be an old od green toolbox. Not trying to be deceptive, just clear out my garage. Thanks for the info, a guy could learn something everyday if he remained teachable. Thanks.
