Hello all,
Well, I posted for recommendations for painting my new garage floor a couple weeks back. I am now finished with the install and wanted to share my experience with any of you about to embark on this task yourself.
First, I spent some time researching and talking to several different company reps on the phone, I finally settled on Armor Poxy as their reps was very friendly, knowledgable and without hesitation extended the 40% offering I had been informed about in my inquiry posting. This led to me ordering one full kit along with an add-on kit since I have over 700 sq. of area to cover.
After receiving the boxes which contains everything you can ever need to get this project accomplished, I proceeded to read the instructions and get down to business.
I cleaned the floor using the supplied ArmorEtch.
The next morning, I started painted the floor but soon realized I had an issue. When talking with the rep, I ask about priming before painting and was told I may not need to since I purchased the add-on kit and could put the product on heavily. However, this did not work out as planned. The paint looked good but there were areas you could clearly see the concrete thru.
As soon as my entire coat was completed (this product is time sensitive so I had to finish before I could stop) I called and talked to Chris. Upon explaining my situation, without hesitation he told me enough product to do the floor again would be shipped out that day (at no charge!) and for me to simply re-apply a second coat and add sprinkles. I believe this would not have been an issue had I gone with a darker color but we wanted the beige with darker sprinkles.
The second boxes of product arrived and I did as instructed. It was instantly apparent that this coat was going to cover and look awesome!
I completed the second coat and the clear coated the next day. I let the garage not see any vehicles for 7 days and then moved everything back into place.
The product is awesome! the customer service was awesome! and the price was more than fair.
If your about to or even thinking about painting your garage floor I highly recommend you take the time to look and and talk to Armorpoxy about their ArmorClad epoxy painting
system.
While this photo does not do the finished project justice, this is what it looks like now.
