I recently found time to apply the ArmorPoxy Full Flake Epoxy kit and figured I'd share the results. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the kit and the application. A few thoughts about the product and the process:
  • Overall the kit appears to be high quality and I don't expect I'll have any issues with adhesion
  • I went with the light gray color with Claystone flakes. I love the color and the variance of the sizes of the flake. I would 100% choose this color combo again.
  • I was really impressed with the way it was packed. It was very efficient space-wise and everything was well labeled - my only complaint was that the hardener for the clear coat had seeped into the lid and hardened which made the can a little difficult to open, but that was a minor issue
  • Similarly, the epoxy base coat was a little clumpy when I opened the can, but this would probably have been taken care of if I had shaken the can before I opened it
  • Application went as expected. The epoxy has a pretty short working time, but if you're smart about it and the weather cooperates, it's not an issue at all.
  • Instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the support team at ArmorPoxy answered all of my questions quickly and probably saved me some headache as I had planned to rinse/pressure wash the floor after grinding and they advised against it
  • I put down the suggested two coats of clear, but I may add a third given some spots still have a slight bit of roughness. I'm a bit of a perfectionist though, so its probably fine for most people.
  • I'm very satisfied with all aspects of the kit and would 100% recommend

Looks great! I also did an armorpoxy 3 coat floor and after 6 years now it's still looking great!

Do you have a picture of the light gray epoxy before the flake? I'm about to do my race shop and prefer to do just a solid epoxy without the flake.

Thanks!

I only have the primer photo because as soon as you put down the epoxy, the flakes need to go down. I do think the primer photo gives a relatively good indication of the color of the epoxy though.
