Been a long time lurker, made my order for armorpoxy today. Should be delivered before the weekend. I am going to be power washing the floor, etching and then coating it. Went with medium gray and red white and blue flakes.

24x24 detached garage with minimal staining. Ill update this thread with more info as I get it.

Thanks. What is square footage and price? Really looking forward to following your progress.

the garage is a little over 500 sq ft. I ordered the 600 sq ft kit, and I got a can of prime to go over the few oil spots if I cant get them out.
armorpoxy offers 40% off to forum members, so I payed a little less than $400 shipped. I ordered yesterday and it is arriving today.

Dang, 40% - I might be ordering soon. I just started scraping the popcorn ceiling, have a few Saturdays to go before I get to the floor.

I didn't realize the discount was so substantial. I may have to jump on this before they pull that deal...

Can't wait to see the finished product. really considering doing epoxy in my basement. I think it would look great and save me a ton of money over tile etc...

So I ran into some issues... Got the garage all cleaned out. Power washed it with cement cleaner to prep for the acid etch. I realized there's some water seeping in around the cinder block foundation. this will have to be tackled before coating the floor...

can't wait to see the red/white/blue on the gray. how do you get the 40%off? i was going to do rustoleum kit, but this might be a better deal in the long run.

I sent armorpoxy an email and then called to order. I was in the same boat, this is just a 10x better kit than rustoleum, especially with the size of my garage. Ill be posting more pics, working on a waterproofing solution now.
Thinking hydraulic cement on the outside with a coat of drylock paint on the cinderblocks. let the blocks dry out and then paint the inside. Also have new seals coming in this week for the garage doors.

Good luck with the waterproofing. Looking forward to the results as I have decided to wait to afford a better product than the big box store brands.

Following along even though i'm technically ahead of you(acid etched once, will need to do it again after grinding some spots). been stuck moving, so you will pass me here soon.

You might want to consider no flake at all and just throw down (up actually) alum. oxide additive for traction instead.

I think single color is a better look, classy, and timeless. Also, when working on cars and stuff, it's a lot better to work on a uniform color floor than flaked flooring. Many professional shops, particularly high-end shop like Porsche, stick w/ bright single-color floor. When I think about flakes, I think it's contractor grade on new homes around here.

Something to consider.

im hoping a one time etch will be enough. I scraped some weird rust off the floor, going to give it a once over before etching. then prime the spots that look a little oily.

while you bring up a valid point, this isnt any sort of commercial shop or anything. I think ill be happy with the flake.

Do you have a black top driveway leading up to the garage? Hard to tell if the one image you sent shows this due to my browser. If so did the Acid etch any of it? Thanks!!

yes i do. not sure if the acid etch did anything yet. right now there's just cement powder/residue stuck on the driveway. waiting to finish the epoxy before I try and power wash it away. want to minimize possibility of water getting on the cement floor.

you 100% need a friend to help. I didnt do this, but in hindsight I would have done some more math and figured out a system to actually ration the coating for the whole floor. I put it down pretty thin at first and had some more leftover than I expected.
other than that, nothing crazy. keep everything clean, wear your mask, and work quickly.
also if youve got some leftover pull your roller out asap or it will harden into there fast. ask me how I know.
