Here some pics of my 1,000sqft garage which I just finished. Since this 3 car garage is located in the main house and I had already used some bold colors for my shop (located in a separate building), I had to follow guidance from the boss (~wife) as to which colors to go with. We are on a ranch in the Central Oregon high desert, so it was decided to use some natural colors. The floor color we selected is ArmorPoxy's khaki tan, and we derived 2 wall accent colors from that. This was my third time I completed an epoxy floor project, however, it was the first time I used ArmorPoxy. I went with 2 X 600sqft sets of Ultra, which more than allowed me to tackle my 1,000 sqft project. I only started using the garage today, so I have no opinion as to long term durability/quality. However, the product was easier to handle than some of the other epoxies I have worked with. I went with the primer and a single stage clear coat. No issues or hick-ups whatsoever. No complaints about smells either. The fact that I lost my smell in the wake of COVID might have helped.

I’ve got so much stuff in my garage there is no way I can get it all outside at the same time. If I could do a big section then move stuff on that section and do another section that would work. Looking at your pics I get the idea that you did the job in sections. True?

Hi
Instead of doing it in sections you could use our SPGX Polyurea which cures in hours and do the job in a single day and put your belongings back inside by ending of day.

Looks good! Did you acid etch or grind the floor? I am looking at floor coating options for a 28x40 garage... And armorpoxy is on my list...

Great looking shop, colors of the floor and walls really make it nice. Yep, I’m jealous of that garage and your car! Hope you enjoy your space.

I have a similar issue and pondered doing it in sections as well, is there a reason to not do it in sections? Is there any compromise with the SPGX vs ArmorClad or ArmorUltra products in terms of durability with the reduced cure time? Thanks.

Hi, when you do it in sections unless you have a saw cut or natural break in the floor you may see the start/stop line.

The main difference between the ArmorClad (Armorclad is the exact same epoxy as ArmorUltra just packaged in smaller kits for garages) is that the SPGX cures in just an hour or two per coat vs the epoxy which takes overnight/coat to cure. The SPGX has a somewhat higher resistance to chemicals and solvents, but it is not as thick as the 100% solids system.

Both give superb performance in a garage environment and over the long term we do not get any reports about one or the other having a shorter life span.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I did it in 2 sections, following a saw cut. Worked perfect ! The picture below shows how I ran masking tape and paper along the cut.
Cure time was no issue since I live on the Oregon High Desert, it's bone dry out here.
This was my third time I did the process and I did not want to take any risk since this is the main garage, often used by visitors to enter the house.
I used a diamond grinding blade purchased from HF on an 11 amp DeWalt electric grinder. Subsequently, I acid washed 2 times. Most probably overkill, but I don't care.

You did an excellent job on the install. I will most likely be using Armorpoxy on my new garage floor. Just waiting for the 30 day cure period. I noticed you used flecks as Armorpoxy has many choices. My only concern about the flecks is that it may be more difficult to identify small items that may fall on the floor. Has anyone had this problem?

The floor looks VERY nice, great job! Tell your wife she has good taste, the color scheme is wonderful. How much does she charge to recommend a garage color scheme? :)

We have a really nice 'color picker' on our website that allows you to upload a photo of your garaqe or project, and then play with the base and fleck colors to really visualize how it will look!
