Armorpoxy SPGX experience

Wanted to relay my experience acid staining and coating my garage floor.

Floor was about 90 days old when I started - and was 99% clean (a very few small oil leaks from an old British sports car...). 770 square foot (three cars).

I did not want to do any mechanical abrasion on the new concrete so I followed rnixon’s approach of a power wash plus acid stain and then Armorpoxy SPGX (one coat).

I wasn’t nearly as ambitious as rnixon in my color choice - just went with a honey brown stain applied with a HD sprayer. The effect is much more interesting than grey concrete - but also “low key”. The acid spraying was pretty easy - took a day all in. I let it dry and then washed and scrubbed it at least twice. Let it dry well and then applied the Armorpoxy SPGX. Only needed two gallons for one coat. I added anti slip in.

I’ve been using it for a few months now and have to say I am very happy with the finish and the functionality of it. I’ve spilled all kinds of nasty chemicals on it and they just wipe up. Time will tell on durability - but so far its looking great and working well - just what I wanted.

I found the installation very intuitive as well. Definitely something a careful amateur can do and get a great outcome.

A not great picture is attached.

Looks nice. I think I have decided to do their grey 2 part SPGX with medium flake on my new garage floor next summer when the house is done.

Looks Great! James. great choice of color, Nicely compliments your walls an window trim .

My floor is 7 months old, I've done a bit of heavy and dirty work on it, and I haven't had to wash it, just wipe up the spills , sweep it off, and it looks as good as the day I put it down.

Thank you all for the feedback. SPGX is designed to be a super heavy duty coating that applies like a paint and is economically priced when applied as a single coat. Also the very fast-curing properties allow your 'stuff' to get back inside, eliminating the need to do the project in sections.

Happy Holidays!
