Does anyone know for certain if the Armstrong Aerospace ratchets (Hylok) can be converted to a standard ratchet with a repair kit?
My gut says yes,but was wondering if anyone knew for sure?
Thanks for the help !

are you sure it is a hylok? i have 2 3/8 drive ratchets with the aerospace markings. neither of them are hylok ratchets and i purchased one of them new. i think they were marketed as aerospace because of the thin head and high tooth count (88) over the 60 tooth models.

there may be a hylok version but i haven't seen one.

i love mine.

I always assumed that aerospace ratchets can't be repaired. Isn't the requirement to meet FOD standards that the ratchet can't come apart or leave screws or other little components behind?

Yes, it has a hole in the end and through the anvil.

This one looks like a standard Armstrong/Matco but has a hole in the end that goes though the anvil (gear) and everything else appears to be the same.
The same retaining clip that holds the cover plate on as the standard model.

I just kinda want to make sure before I pull the trigger on one. I have picked up a couple of other brands (contenintel) that are kinda Proto clones but not close enough that parts fit each other. I refer to these as Hylok ratchets for use with Hylok fasteners.Armstrong calls theirs Aerospace ratchets.

i see no reason why not. other than having a hole in the back side. the single pawl husky ratchets are a quick release. you may be able to steal the parts from one of them to make a quick release armstrong........
