Noticed Advance now list Armstrong and SK tools on thier site as a ship to home option. And the couple items I checked thier online codes worked on. With the codes you can get a decent deal on the Maxx ratchets. :D

They have carried SK for a long time but their prices are crazy high. Even with some of the best Coupon Codes they can still be found cheaper online elsewhere.

They've been gone for months! Good to see them back.

I've found that the open stock pieces are almost the cheapest from AAP, even before coupon. For example, SK replacement bits for hex bit sockets are around $2 a piece, which is a fantastic deal. Most of the stuff, however, comes out pretty average after the better coupons. Many of the open stock sockets are a few bucks too, where as tooltopia starts charging $10, $15+ a socket when you reach certain sizes (even in 3/8 drive!).

Couple of other good deals:

Armstrong 1/4 drive flex MAXX ratchet: $63.99-$20 ($20 off $50) puts it a dollar lower than epstein's. If you spent another $11, and use a $30 off $75, you can get it for about $40, and then you also have another socket or whatever you used as filler.

Armstrong 1/2 drive flex MAXX ratchet: $118 (add $7 in filler) and use a $50 off $125. $75 shipped compared to epstein's $93+shipping price tag.

You have to look and search, but it can be done to get some killer prices.

Yes, much like Sears you have to work the angles.

It's good to see them back on the site. It looks like they added a bunch of brands like Knipex, Koken, Channellock, Klein, Vim and a few others.

Check out the price on the 250 piece sk set. Then look at the prices up from there.

Better logo.:bounce:

They're us made as far as I know. Actually compared to a modern taiwanese ratchet they'd be pretty similar in durability and fit & finish. But I don't think the chinese stuff is there yet (if it's chinese made); some gearwrench is chinese. End of the day armstrong and gearwrench are owned by the same company (apex) but made in different facilities to different specs.

Yes they are indeed Matco rebrands. And the are absolutely made in the USA. The US military uses only Armstrong in their Hummvee boxes.

I have 3 Armstrong Maxx Ratchets and they are exceptional. I wouldn't trade them for GW any day.

The military does not only use Armstrong to fill the Humvee tools boxes, it just that Armstrong is what was winning bid at that time to fulfill those tool boxes. 5 years from now it could be another brand.

Tool truck quality at Craftsman prices.

Hahaha, not quite tool truck quality (have you seen the terrible chrome on the sockets?!?) and not close to craftsman prices. It's more of an awkward midling brand with some very nice ratchets.
