Was there a connection between plomb/proto and it's other associated brands and armstrong? There is a plomb, armstrong, and p&c pictured. As they are all alittle different the similaritys are uncanny. I don't see any mention of this on any of the alloy artifacts pages. Maybe I'm
Armstrong used a bog type ratchet for a time and plomb bought out bog. Plomb also supplied some bog type ratchets. The bog ratchets can be traced back to western auto and the Pierson patent, issued to Ben Pierson of bog auto
Think dude is talking about the shape of the head shown in his pictures. Britool (England)and Mitoloy (Japan) had ratchets resembling those too.....might just be a case of there only being so many ways to shape a ratchet head.
The p&c was definately a plomb design, and given the history of earlier ratchets, I would not be surprised if armstrong somehow used the later plomb/proto design
