Kind of went a little crazy last week . . . I don't think the posty appreciated handing over 17 box's to me!

The search for the ultimate Armstrong Eliminator thru hole socket set looks to be finally completed.

It has taken about four months to find a local and private seller willing to sell their collection to me.

Anyone not familiar with these sets should know it is very hard to locate full sets in both SAE / Metric in one tool case. If you find one that brand new and intact, buy it!

This 3/8, 1/2, metric drive Armstrong Eliminator set is one of those Ghost sets that only come to light once in a blue moon.

Now I have it . . .

Again to find a full SAE / Metric Armstrong Eliminator set in this configuration is far and few.

Below are a set of 8 piece Armstrong reversible SAE gear wrenches. I only posted the first four sets as the other six sets were still in the box. Pretty sure I don't need 10 sets of SAE gear wrenches, so they are going to be sold.

Some of you may recall me posting this up. But, just in case you havent seen it here is a one of my pride and joys. A Armstrong 5/8 bolt cutter can you tell she is over 45 years old?

I used her several times last week to cut a few bolts and chains at work. Cut them like a hot knife going threw buttaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Still have another 46 pictures to load but this should do for today. Sorry for the poor lighting of the pictures. I am in the middle of a reno and the windows are covered and this battery is failing.

But I am sure you all get the picture!

I have a question. I have a Matco special forces set on the way, 3/8"

So what makes this a 3/8" set? It looks like all 3 ratchet drive sizes have the same size hole, so is it basically just the size of the sockets and not the actual drive?

Won't your 1/4" sockets fit into your 1/2" ratchet? I guess that is really what I want to know. Or won't your 1/2" drive sockets fit into your 1/4" ratchet?

Nope.

Not too sad about it either, won't touch Armstrong with a 10ft. pole. Worst warranty in the business, at least in my area.

I'll stick to companies like Wright, who actually care about making their warranty accessible to their customers (not that I'd have to use it, I don't think I could break one of my Wright tools if I tried. If you've ever broken a Craftsman socket, you'd likely break an Armstrong too, they're the same damn thing besides the plating and the price tag )

For a guy that doesn't like Armstrong you were/are awfully slow to part with that 1/2" deep set.

I know this has been claimed before, but I don't believe it.
