Is there an Armstrong VCT rep or dealer on these forums? I need help with a particular tile that I want.

I ordered Armstron VCT for my garage project. I'm told that the colors I chose are 4 times the cost???? They are Excelon tile with same specification sheets as all Excelon. I called Armstrong but they will not discuss it. Here are the Armstron #s.

#56790 - Black II
#56806 - Red II
#56830 - Chalk I
#56812 - Blue II

I'd just like another confirmation that this tile is $125 a box where other colors are $35 a box.

Ok I just called my Armstrong dist. Those colors are infact more $$. Your prices are cheaper than what I was just quoted as wholsale. Now I dont do much commercial so my price isnt as good as some on VCT

The Black $137.35
Red $170.29
Chalk $170.29
Blue $170.29

Looks like you arent getting overcharged...infact a damn good price!!

Thanks draglink for the confirmation. Shocking is putting it mildly!! That takes my materials price from $1k to $5k. More than I can accept and a lot more than my better half would put up with. The thing I don't understand is why?? Armstrong refuses to discuss it. The spec sheet is exactly the same as all the other Excelon tiles. Oh well, greater mysteries will be solved. Back to the drawing board.

Actually these colors are just red, black, white and blue. But they are solid colors with no specks, shadows, or flecks whatever you want to call the designs in the other tiles. I just liked the solid color better --- till I seen the price that is!!! I'm sticking with VCT but guess it will be the "normal" tiles.

WOW...... that is an insane mark up for solid colors. I would never have thought that solid colors would be that much more. However, you may be better off with tiles with specks. The solid colors would look better when first installed, but over time the specks help hide dirt and other "things" that happen to the tiles in the garage over time. I have marks on some of my tiles that I am sure are from wear and tear but blend in with the tiles specks.

I agree with you but I am going to clear coat with epoxy to help avoid the wear & tear on the tile itself.

Good deal. I would do the same but I bought a high speed buffer for my floor. If I epoxied the floor what would I do with the two hours every Sunday that I mop and buff the floor?
