So my old Arrow PowerShot Stapler died a week ago as it wouldn't catch the handle with the internal spring load and fire a staple.
So I opened her up and of course the spring load unsprung and looking at the parts, looks like a tong was bent way out of shape.

Now I am not a magician by any means and wasn't too thrilled about bending the tongue back and trying to manhandle the spring back in place, even if I knew how!
So $20 bucks later I got a new one, same thing. Figuring it will last me another 10+ years....after about a dozen staples to hold up the wiring underneath my model railroad layout, the new stapler jams, I clear the jam and now the this is doing the same thing my old one is doing!
WTF...made in china or what! Well I can't find the receipt and I tossed the packaging and realized I just blew $20. I searched the forum for any other "rants" about this exact stapler but no luck.
So I will never buy another. Went to Harbor Freight and bought this Three-Way Tacker Staple Gun Kit for $9....I feel if this takes a dump I still am ahead $11.

Arrow was my Fathers go to stapler, and that old gun of his outlasted him. Sad to see good name brands going to ****!
So now...what am I gonna do with this new Arrow stapler that isn't working?
Got any tips once I open it to see the issues causing it to fail? Is there a video you used to fix your staple gun...specifically, this "Power Shot brand?
This really *****...should have kept the packaging and reciept for at least 3 months. Lesson learned...again. :wtf:

This PowerShot was originally invented by Black and Decker which apparently sold the rights to ARROW. I've got one and like it. I've moved on to the M12 stapler as I'm a lazy ******* and pushing down on a handle is far to Plebian of an activity for me.

There's a place near me that sells building supply store returns (Home Dept, Lowes, etc...) and they had a bunch of those PowerShot staplers. I picked one up to try out and wasn't paying attention- I had my palm against the bottom to provide leverage to close the lever and shot a staple right into into my palm. The PowerShot staplers shoot the staples out the opposite end of normal staplers.

Did that as a kid when my Dad bought one when they first became mainstream in the 90s.

Craftsman brand.

Yeah, I did that once, back when that style first came out. Put a 1/2" staple all the way into the meaty part below the thumb.

I don't own any of that type.....

Next time you come east on Rt 80 you can visit their HQ on Mayhill St in Saddle Brook, NJ. Used to use their HT-65 Hammer Tackers and T50 in roofing-would gunk up with tar eventually. Walk in to reception, the lady would see stapler in your hand, you sit and a tech in a white lab coat would come out, 5 min later you had your tool back- rebuilt, cleaned and a free box of staples. Been a customer since than, though never the PShot.

Give them a call and see what they'll do for you. Maybe the are still a stand up company.

Agree. While I have never been to their facility, when you call, they are nothing but great to talk to. I felt like I was talking to an old friend. A couple years ago, I had called them about sending me a replacement spring load plunger that I had lost for a HT50 hammer tacker that I had bought in the late 1970's (old black plastic wrapped handle). The part was around $3.00! I said ship me two as the shipping was going to be like $4.00 for the package.
