Asphalt Patch Repair Recomendations

What I need to do is try to level out where my concrete driveway and the roadway meet. Over the coarse of 10yrs or so the asphalt road has settled 2-3" in places along my driveway. I'm trying to prevent the edge of my driveway from getting broken.

Looking for some kinda asphalt repair cold patch. I see menards has Rust-Oleum blacktop patch repair and local farm store has Sakrete blacktop patch. Anyone have experience with those products? Or any suggestions besides blacktop patch? Kinda thought maybe vinyl cement patch too. Figured that might be easier and adhere better. Suggestions?

Use the Sakrete. Clean the area where you need to build it up. Remove all loose debris and stone/dirt. Dump the cold patch in, a little more than you think you need. Grab an old chunk of 2x4 and a hand sledge. Level it out and start pounding the patch down by laying the chunk of 2x4 down & hitting it with the hand sledge. Keep moving it around until the whole area is compacted. Make sure to leave the repaired area slightly LOWER than you actually want it. This way it wont be taken out by a plow or when the ground freezes. Been doing it this way for decades and it works every time.

cold patch isn't very durable . doesn't last very long... try to get some hot mix off of a paving company when they're working in your area...

Have you considered asking the highway department if they would do a repair on the roadway to fix the problem. I know that our town will do small patches like this when they have the extra material, and are working in the general vicinity of where the repair needs to be done. Doesn't hurt to ask, just don't give them the address until they say that they will do it. That way, if they won't, you can still do it, without them knowing.

Thought about that too.....city crew just chucks it off the truck, no cleaning or prep for the area, them suckers never tamp anything down either, probably worth a call though.

So clean and prep the area before they come, or even before you call. Then tamp it down after they leave.

I'd recommend not trying to shim the roadway to match your driveway, but to call the highway department and asking them to fix the problem. In some locals you can create personal hardship by modifying the roadway without permission!
